Extracurricular Activities

For many students, school is more than a day spent in a classroom. When schools offer a variety of extracurricular activities, students expand their learning in ways that go far beyond traditional coursework. Research has shown that extracurricular activities, such as sports, school organizations, afterschool programs, and academic competitions, offer opportunities for students to learn the value of teamwork, individual responsibility, sportsmanship, diversity, real-world experiences, and community engagement. These types of activities provide a well-rounded education for students who participate in them; and oftentimes, they are a key factor in keeping some students in school. RYSS actively promotes extracurricular activities in its schools because they increase meaningful engagement of students among themselves, their teachers, and their community.

The RYSS Soccer Program provides students with the opportunity to develop their athletic abilities while building teamwork, leadership, discipline, and sportsmanship. Through practices and competition, student-athletes gain valuable life skills, stay active, and proudly represent their school.
